Looking for different customer service software?

Customer service software almost always sits next to your website or webshop: the question lands in the inbox, the answer sits in your order management or another part of your website. Below you'll find an honest comparison with Neuramerce for each system, where the inbox is part of the platform, right next to your orders, returns and stock. Including the points where a standalone system is further ahead, and when it remains the better choice.

What to look for when choosing customer service software

Six questions that decide whether a customer contact system saves your team time or mostly becomes yet another tab or screen. The price per agent deliberately isn't first on the list: it's rarely the full amount.

Add the AI meter to the licence

Almost every helpdesk charges for AI separately: per resolved question, per conversation or per agent. Rates range from $0.20 to $2.00 per answer. Set that against your own volume, not just the price per seat.

Can you act on the order from the conversation

A customer who wants to cancel or change an address doesn't want to be sent elsewhere. Check whether a system only shows the order or can also change it, and for which shop platform that applies. Often that's only Shopify or WooCommerce.

Do marketplace questions land in the same queue

If you sell through bol.com or Amazon, questions come in there too. An inbox without that connection means a second screen someone has to keep up with every day.

Where is your customer data stored

Customer conversations contain names, addresses and orders. Some of the big helpdesks store them in the US by default, or charge extra for storage in the EU.

Can your team work with it in their own language

Many international helpdesks only offer an English admin interface. For a Dutch-speaking team that works in the inbox all day, that weighs more heavily than an extra feature.

How many integrations do you have to maintain

With a standalone helpdesk, orders, returns, stock and customer value come in through integrations. Every integration can drift out of sync, and outside Shopify it's often read-only.
FAQ

Questions about choosing customer service software.

A helpdesk sits next to your webshop and pulls in order data through an integration. The Neuramerce Inbox is part of the platform your shop runs on: orders, returns, warranty and customer value sit next to the conversation without an integration. On the other hand, the big helpdesks are further ahead with SLAs, canned responses and marketplace integrations.
Trengo, Belco, Zendesk, Gorgias, Freshdesk, Intercom, eDesk, Help Scout, CM.com (formerly Robin) and Watermelon. Those are the ten we come across most often at webshops that are taking a hard look at their customer service.
Email, live chat on your site, WhatsApp Business, Instagram, Messenger and telephony. Messages from bol.com and other marketplaces don't come in yet.
You see the order and the customer value next to the conversation, and you edit return and warranty cases directly. Refunding, cancelling or changing an address is still done in the Orders module, not from the conversation.
The AI chatbot on your site and the draft replies for your team are included in the subscription. You don't pay per conversation or per resolved question.
Yes, with the WooCommerce integration your orders come into the platform. You get the most benefit when your shop itself runs on it: then there's no integration that can drift out of sync.
