Should I move to Drupal 11?

If you run Drupal 10, yes: according to drupal.org, Drupal 10 reaches end of life on 9 December 2026, and after that there are no more security fixes. Still on Drupal 7? Then you have been without support since 5 January 2025. So the question is not whether you migrate, but where to: to Drupal 11, or to a platform where hosting and updates are no longer your job.

Upgrade or switch?

UpgradeDrupal 11

if you are a large organisation with a dedicated development team, complex permission structures, integrations with government or legacy systems, or an editorial team of dozens with their own workflows. Then upgrading to Drupal 11 is often the right choice: you build on what is already there.

Switch

if you don't want every change to go through an agency, and you want your site, sales and customer contact in one system with hosting, updates and security included. We migrate you from Drupal for free.

What an upgrade to Drupal 11 takes

Upgrading from Drupal 10 to 11 is not a rebuild, but it is not a single click either. This is what comes up.

A newer PHP version

Drupal 11 requires at least PHP 8.3. If your server runs an older version, your hosting has to move first.

Deprecated code out

Code marked as deprecated in Drupal 10 is gone in Drupal 11. Custom modules and themes need to be checked and updated for it.

Contrib modules must follow

Every contrib module needs a Drupal 11 version. If one is missing, you wait, patch it yourself or find a replacement.

Upgrade Status as a starting point

The Upgrade Status module scans your site and shows per module and per theme what still needs doing. A logical first step for your planning.

And then the next upgrade

Security releases, major versions and modules that don't come along: that work never stops and doesn't bring in a single visitor.

Free software, paid hours

The licence costs nothing, but building and maintaining does. For most organisations that is by far the biggest cost.

Switching in 4 steps

Decided to switch after all? Your site stays online. We do the migration; you keep publishing.
  1. Demo and intake

30 minutes. We look at your content types, your Views, your language setup and which URLs bring in traffic.
  2. Connect and run alongside

We let Neuramerce run alongside first on SEO, reviews or customer contact. Your visitors notice nothing on the front end yet.
  3. Free migration

Content types, nodes, media, taxonomy and translations move over. We keep your URL structure where possible and catch the rest with redirects.
  4. Live and one invoice

You switch to the new site, the maintenance contract can go and your editors get training.
